Devlog Week #9
DISCLAIMER:
NOW.. I know there's a couple devlogs missing in between this one and the last one. Uh I ran into some difficulty and distractions so I'm a tad bit off my game. Now I may no longer get graded for them, but I'll still add them so the website looks better. Okay disclaimer over here's week 9
1.What did you learn this week?
I learned what and how to use a header properly. It essentially is a title for example: [Header("---Ground Checker Info---")]. I also learned what normalized is, basically what it does is if you push two directions at the same time/diagonal movement it does not increase the speed. Line 40 essentially saying move the rigid body in this direction at a constant speed. The return line is checking "Is there ground directly underneath my character.
2.What work did you complete for your project?
I added the code for the info above and shown in the picture starting with my header, making a transform for my groundchecker and layer mask for the ground. Under update I made a private bool IsGrounded() then under that a return line. I took some time to catch up from what I missed then moved on by applying the horizontal/vertical lines of code with a new one below it that being the rb.linearVelocity code.
3.What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them?
The only challenge I faced which wasn't anything tremendous or really a challenge but missing a day and in turn missing some code. I overcame this by going over the code Cardoso had on the screen and applied what I needed
4.What would you like to learn next?
How to code in jumping easier and more flowy movement/smooth rotation
5.Picture/Video of My Work
